1. Research

The process of making a natural ink has already found and researched by Yunanto Wiji Utomo in 2011, with the main ingredient of natural ingredients. One of the issues with natural ink is the limited color availability, and unready material. Other than that, because it was made from natural ingredients, natural ink relatively won’t last as long as syntetic ink.

This research is done to prove that Nusa Indah flower can be used as a natural ink ingredient source. Nusa Indah flower is chosen as the main ingredient in making this natural ink, is because it was able to produce brown milk color. Other than that, the ink that came from this flower, if used on a canvas, was faster to dry than other materials, like syntetic paint or oil paint.

2.1 The purpose research

The research aims to (1) increase our knowledge about science,(2) knowing the coloring substance from the Nusa Indah flower,(3) knowing the difference between gliserol and Nusa Indah’s extract so it will gave the best color possible,(4) knowing color drying process.

Nusa indah flower is produce brown color. Processing nusa indah flower in order to be natural ink is very easy. Mixed the nusa indah’s extract with glycerol 30% and starch 50% by comparison with 2:1:2. 2 for nusa indah’s extract, 1 for glycerol, 2 for starch.
